A friends and family residential studio in the hills of El Cerrito, CA

If you’re on tour, visiting the Bay Area, or have a pressing need to record something special, please be in touch!

We love creating a warm and welcoming environment for artists and we especially enjoy exposing modern recording artists to a classic analog recording workflow.

Track and mix out-of-the-box from a living room with a view of the San Francisco Bay.

Our Team:

Brian Fogg

I've been collecting gear and building this studio for the past several years with the intention of providing a low cost, large format, (mostly) analog recording experience to members of the Bay Area music community.

I'm living here at the house with a lovely cast of housemates / engineers and I really enjoy hosting and recording artists. Especially excited to work with those who are recording new music.

Julian Ranieri

An eccentric musician and songwriter with a passion for analog audio equipment and eastern music, Julian primarily writes and performs on sitar, drums, guitar and vocals.

He is currently playing in an improvisational band known as "Magic Tea" as well as producing a fantasy music album with SF Audio Guild.

Notably, Julian has written his own audio software used for tracking in the studio called "Tape Sim".

He lives and works at the studio and is dedicated to the love of recording arts.

Thomas Ascough

Thomas Ascough is a professional composer and sound engineer with multiple international placements on major networks.

He holds a bachelor's in Music Production and a Master of Fine Arts in Scoring and Composition. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons.

He often draws on these wondrous tales told with friends to inspire his orchestral fantasy music, bringing magical and immersive soundscapes to life.
